“By intuition we all know that it is better to be in a pleasant space than in an unpleasant one, now this is not only intuition but also science”.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER

SHARING KNOWLEDGE TO CREATE THE BEST TOGETHER

A good environment is not only pleasing to the eye or a whim, the environment affects people and can be a contributor to the well-being and health of people or threat.

A poorly designed environment, is recognised as a potential stressor for people and can increase their cortisol levels and when this occurs on a continuous basis, exceeding people’s ability to adapt, , it can be detrimental to their health.. This is especially important in places where people are more vulnerable (hospitals) or spend a lot of time (school, workplace or home).

Fortunately a good environment can also contribute to the well-being and health of people, this is a Healing Environment.

SHARING KNOWLEDGE TO CREATE TOGETHER THE BEST HEALTH ENVIRONMENT.

Design based on scientific evidence (Nature, Light, Colour and Silence), Neuroscience and Colour Psychology for the improvement of spaces for health.

That is why from Vela Design we want to help to broaden the knowledgeel about the benefits of a good environment for the health and well-being of people with a scientific and humanistic approach.

To this end, Vela Design participates as speakers and teachers in classes, seminars and conferences at Congresses, Master Classes, Universities, Training Centres for the Humanisation of Health, as well as other public and private entities.

Sustainability Workshops: Workshop Caring for Earth

The aim of the workshop is to find out why we are the way we are as a society and why it is difficult for us to take care of our common home. The experience analysed at the University has shown us statistically that the method is effective in making participants between 5 and 12 years of age discover themselves as agents capable of caring for the Earth.

First we tell a story: “Caring for Earth”, and we reflect on it and in the workshop we get to know what the Human Being is like, our ambitions, our great intelligence, our enormous capacity to build… and destroy… and we recognise ourselves as present and future caretakers of Earth.

Here is an example of the final project that children from 9 to 11 years old did:

Houses with green roofs that gave back to Earth the borrowed nature, schools on rivers to use the energy of the water, green areas with trees connecting housing areas with cultivation spaces, hospitals, libraries… all created with recycled elements…
